The Groeneveld Speedlimiter increases safety and contributes to a cost-effective deployment of trucks, forklifts, terminal tractors, vans and other equipment. The Speedlimiter is available in an electronic and mechanical version and can be used to limit speed or RPM. Optionally, the Speedlimiter can be used as a cruise control and there is the possibility to set up a second end speed. The Speedlimiter also has a Speedhold function that allows the driver to set a temporary maximum speed.
Speedlimiter
Working principle electronic Speedlimiter
Between the accelerator pedal sensor and the motor management system an intelligent electronic circuit is placed. As a result, the Speedlimiter will be constantly able to compare the actual speed with the set maximum speed. If the maximum speed is exceeded, the Speedlimiter will send a reduced fuel signal to the motor management system. Obviously, changed conditions (such as driving downhill or uphill and headwind) will be taken into account in this process.
Working principle mechanical Speedlimiter
The original mechanism of the fuel pump will be adapted or extended, in a way that an actuating motor operates the Bowden cable of the fuel pump. Similar to the electronic Speedlimiter, the intelligent electronics constantly compare the actual speed with the set maximum speed. At the moment the maximum speed is exceeded, the actuating motor will adjust the Bowden cable of the fuel pump. This will not have an effect on the position of the accelerator pedal. Of course, changed conditions (such as driving downhill or uphill and headwind) will be taken into account in this process.
